How we run a circle

Each 90-minute circle includes a relaxed, light-hearted check-in, a grounding exercise and an open conversation around a loose theme — such as ‘masculinity’ or ‘authenticity’ — exploring what it means to us and how it shows up in our lives. We finish by reflecting on what we’ve taken from the conversation and one another’s experiences. There’s never any pressure to share though. You’re welcome to simply listen.

  1. 01

    Arrive

Cameras on if you can. First-timers are welcomed so you’re not left guessing how things run.

  2. 02

    Check in

A simple round: how you’re feeling today. Short is fine. Pass if you don’t feel up to it.

  3. 03

    Share and listen

The heart of each circle is an open sharing space for anyone who wishes to contribute. Each session is gently guided by a loose theme connected to our experiences as GBT+ men and non-binary people. We listen to understand and hold space for one another, rather than offering advice.

  4. 04

    Close

We finish by sharing anything that stood out for us and what we’re taking away with us.

  • Very friendly and welcoming group
  • No pressure to share if you simply want to come and listen
  • Confidential — what is shared stays in the circle
  • Everyone has a chance to speak

FAQ

Before you join

What happens at a first circle?

You join on Zoom. First-timers are named and welcomed. We agree the room — confidential, no fixing, you can pass — then we check in and share.

Is the circle confidential?

Yes. What is said in the circle stays in the circle, except where we must act to keep someone safe or to meet the law. You can pass on any question. Silence is allowed.

Is this therapy or a crisis service?

No. This is a facilitated peer circle, not therapy and not a crisis service. If you need urgent help, contact Samaritans on 116 123 or emergency services.
